About

Proven methodology. Production-ready platform.

OrbisFramework was built by a process expert with forty years of work in environments where the cost of failure is patient harm, financial loss, regulatory exposure, or reputation. The platform is the formalization of that methodology.

The Path

1970s

Ford Motor Company

Early career under W. Edwards Deming's quality methodology. Process discipline learned at the source.

1980s-90s

Accenture

Built the business intelligence practice reaching 400+ hospitals. Process consulting at enterprise scale. Hospital turnarounds.

1990s

Vizient

Scaled the BI business to 900+ hospital clients. This platform was later acquired into IBM Watson Health.

The Architectural Thesis

High-stakes decisions require a Decision Architecture

One idea runs through all forty years of work and through OrbisFramework. When a decision really matters, getting nine of ten things right does not save you if the tenth is wrong. The whole thing breaks at the weak link, exactly the way a chain breaks.

Most AI systems roll everything into one confident score. That score looks reassuring, and it hides the single flaw that sinks the outcome. OrbisFramework does the opposite. It hunts for the weakest link in every decision and fixes it before the decision moves forward. That is the difference between scoring a decision and actually trusting it.

The approach is grounded in 24 centuries of decision theory and laid out in full in the book, The Architecture of Decision.

Why This Platform Exists

I spent forty years in healthcare, where a bad decision was not a missed quarter. It was a hospital heading the wrong way, and people getting hurt for it. That teaches a decision discipline most software never learns.

Enterprise AI is skipping that decision discipline now, the same way process systems did in the 1980s. The demos look impressive. Then a real decision depends on it, and the one thing it got wrong turns out to be the thing that mattered.

This is not a theory about how AI should work. It is what holds up where being wrong carries a cost you cannot take back.

“Some AI projects deliver ROI. Others just waste money. The real failures end the company. The approach, methodology, and architecture decide which.”
From “The High Stakes Decision,” April 2026
